Our Previous Narrowboating Trips

(For how we got together as a narrowboat crew, see "About Us.")

The Spirit of Guiding 2002 - 2005 based at Sowerby Bridge: Rochdale and Calder-Hebble canals and the Aire and Calder navigations. We did two trips one year and one each of the other years (one of which was a 10-day trip) and we got to know the canal, and the boat, well. She's OK for what she's designed for and sleeps 12 (I won't say in comfort though!) Captions to the photos appear when the cursor goes on them.

Tuptonia - June 2007 : based at Hockley Heath: Grand Union and Stratford-on-Avon canals. Tuptonia s 70 feet long and also sleeps 12 and, like Spirit Of Guiding, belongs to the local Guide Associations. Because of her length and width, Tuptonia cannot fit down the Tardebigge flight.

As you can see, we do have a fair bit of experience between us - and this doesn't count narrowboating with our respective families over the years!
